Centre Court: Hardhitters is a tennis game that can be played by up to four players if a PlayStation multitap is used, and it has English, French and German language options.
The game has three modes of play:* Training: here a player practices returning balls that are hit at/to them

Arcade: where the player challenges six of the eight supplied AI opponents, no real tennis players are licensed by this game

Exhibition: where up to four players can compete.
Four kinds of tennis court are represented, grass, clay, lawn and indoor. The game has save/load functions, and a create-a-player function. Players are created in the Arcade mode game, they can develop and gain experience by playing in the Arcade and Exhibition matches but there is no career or tournament mode in this game.
