LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes takes the beloved LEGO video game formula and expands it in every direction. The dynamic duo of Batman and Robin are back, but this time, they're not alone. The story follows a nefarious team-up between The Joker and Lex Luthor, who are looking to take over Gotham City. With the city under threat, Batman and Robin must reluctantly join forces with a wider cast of heroes from the DC Universe, including Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Green Lantern, to save the day.
This game marked a major evolution for the LEGO series, introducing groundbreaking features that would become staples for future titles. It combined the classic cooperative puzzle-solving and combat with a massive open-world environment and, for the first time, fully voiced characters
- Open-World Gotham City: Explore a huge, fully-realized open-world version of Gotham City for the first time in a LEGO game. You can travel freely by foot, vehicle, or, in the case of Superman, by flying high above the city. This expansive hub world is filled with collectibles, side quests, and citizens in peril, giving players endless opportunities for exploration and fun.
- A Roster of DC Super Heroes: The game features a huge cast of over 50 playable characters from the DC Universe, each with unique abilities. You can switch between characters on the fly to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. With Superman's flight, Super-Breath, and Heat Vision, The Flash's super speed, and Green Lantern's ability to create constructs, the gameplay is more dynamic and varied than ever.
- Talking LEGO Minifigures: This was the first LEGO video game by Traveller's Tales to feature full voice acting, a major departure from the series' signature mime-based humor. The dialogue is witty, humorous, and performed by a stellar cast, adding a new layer of charm and story-telling to the adventure.
- New Gadgets and Suits: Batman and Robin get a host of new suits and gadgets to help them on their journey. Batman's Power Suit allows him to destroy silver LEGO objects, while Robin's Hazard Suit lets him traverse dangerous liquids.
